URL Forwarding/Cloaking Service Explained

URL forwarding or URL cloaking/masking is a free add-on service at MegiWeb.com.

Do not confuse URL forwarding with URL redirection.

Redirection will show the target page's URL in the browser rather than hiding it.

URL forwarding, however, will cloak or hide the target URL (however long it is) with your domain name. This is extremely handy if you want to send traffic to your favorite affiliate program link. It can turn this long URL:

http://www.youraffiliateprogram.com/cgi-bin/productone.cgi?affid=1234567&bonus=2

into this easy-to-remember site name:

http://www.productone.com
