Affiliate Programs Explained

You have great products or services but not many people know about them? You need to set up an affiliate program that pays others commissions for referring your products or services to others.

Setting up an affiliate program is better than hiring a team of salespersons -- you have to pay them upfront and for as long as you hire them. With an affiliate program sometimes called associate program, you pay the people who are willing to refer your products to others only after your products are actually sold. It is like a post-sale revenue sharing process and that is why affiliate program is also called "revenue sharing" program.

There are two kinds of affiliate program services: (1) affiliate program that is administered and maintained on your own site using an automated script and (2) affliate program that is installed and maintained by others and you are sort of renting its service by paying a monthly fee.
